About Alviso Marina County Park

Alviso is the small coastal neighborhood in San José, CA. Bordering Santa Clara, Alviso is known for being the lowest city in the San Francisco Bay area, at thirteen feet below sea level. In Alviso, one can find the Alviso Marina, County Park. Though it may be small in size, Alviso offers a large number of sightseeing opportunities in the area; particularly, Alviso Marina County Park provides many trails for hiking and wildlife watching.

Alviso Marina County Park is open from 8 a.m. until sunset every day of the week, with free admission. Many who come to visit the Alviso Marina County Park partake in bird watching, hiking, and kayaking as apart of their experience, but there is also an Education Boat Tour available to those who would enjoy a guided boating experience through the salt marshes within the park. The park also has a Boat Launch, which gives many the opportunity of steering boats out of the salt marshes into open ocean waters. There is a long list of self-guided options within the park, such as bird watching, hiking, and biking. Also available is the Healthy Parks Healthy People Walks, which are offered on the first Saturday of every month at 10 a.m. where you can join the park staff on a walk while learning about the ecosystems within the park. Dogs are welcome as long as they remain on a leash in the picnic areas and pathways, but they are not allowed on the trails for hiking, biking, or the boardwalks.

The Alviso Marina County Park is located in the bay area near the saltwater marshes of the Don Edwards San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge within Alviso, CA. It also happens to be less than a fifteen-minute drive away from the Hotel EREAL.
